NRL 2005 Footy Tips Round 10
Previously: NRL 2005 Footy Tips Round 8
What, no round 9? No stress, no dramas, I just was too busy moving to blog about it.
As of this moment, the Dragons have beaten the Panthers, which is just great 'cos that's just how I tipped it. Hurrah! Apart from that match-up, this week was rather hard to pick. So many matches with evenly-matched teams. It's interesting collating the tips this week because everyone seems to have tipped so differently (except ST and DB, they were exactly the same, has that got something to do with the fact that they are constantly paired for duo work?) there's going to be some major changes in the leaderboard this week.
Anyway, back to me. Here are my tips:
DRAGONS to beat Panthers - see? told you so! After a slow start to the season, the Dragons are in form at the moment.
BULLDOGS to beat Sea Eagles - The first of the really hard matches to tip. I have no idea so just went for the safe option and chose Home.
BRONCOS to beat Cowboys - Another hard match to tip. They're both really hot. I've a feeling now that I've tipped wrong, though...
STORM to beat Rabbitohs - An easy one to pick. Storm at least have shown some form.
WARRIORS to beat Roosters - The Warriors have had bad luck at home. Now's the time for a change, methinks. I have nothing to base that hunch on, though.
WESTS TIGERS to beat Knights - I'm not gambling on the Knights ever again. Watch them win now.
RAIDERS to beat Sharks - Another hard one. Gone for the home team.
Now that I've moved, I'll be able to pay more attention to the footy and make some decent decisions.
And finally, just a note about last week. Unlike this week, Round 9 was so easy to tip - home teams all the way (almost). Unfortunately, alot of people thought so to so there wasn't too much activity in the leaderboard, a couple of wooden spoon contenders shooting up the ranks and a former top-ranked tipper falling out of the top five allowing yours truly to step up the ranks. I was worried that everyone was going to adopt a "home-tipper" strategy, making the competition boring, so I'm glad to see that this week promises a big shake-up. Bring it on.
UPDATE Saturday: A mixed night, with the Bulldogs going down but the Broncos scraping through (just about everyone correctly picked Storm to win so that wasn't a critical match for the tipping competition). I'm still equal third at the moment, which is basically the best result I can hope for at this stage (otherwise I could, gulp, fall to fifth!)
UPDATE Saturday again: Why did I tip the Bulldogs???
